Frequently asked questions
How does booklet printing work?+
The pages are rearranged two per side of each sheet, so that the first sheet carries the last page and page 1 on the front, page 2 and the next-to-last page on the back, and so on. When you fold the printed stack in half, the pages follow each other in order.
How should I print it?+
Double-sided, flipping on the short edge, at actual size (not fit to page). If your printer only flips on the long edge, tick that option and the backs are turned for you. With a single-sided printer, download the fronts and backs as two files.
What if the page count is not a multiple of 4?+
Each sheet holds 4 pages, so blank pages are added. By default they go before the back cover, so your last page stays on the back of the booklet.
Can I make a booklet that opens on the right?+
Yes. Choose "Opens on the right" for Arabic, Hebrew or Japanese documents, and the binding is on the right-hand side.
What are signatures?+
A thick book is easier to fold as several small booklets (signatures) of a few sheets each, sewn or glued together. Choose how many sheets each signature has, and add creep compensation for thick paper.
How do I make a mini zine?+
Choose Mini zine: 8 pages go on one sheet in the classic layout. Print one-sided, fold the sheet, cut along the red line in the middle and fold it into a little 8-page book.
