Frequently asked questions

Does it keep the layout?+

It rebuilds the text: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic. Pictures, columns and exact positions are not copied, so the result is easy to edit rather than a pixel copy.

My Word file came out empty. Why?+

The PDF is probably a scan, so it contains a picture of text rather than text. Run OCR PDF first, then convert again.

Can I just edit the PDF instead?+

Yes. To change a few words, the Edit PDF tool edits the text directly in the PDF and keeps the original layout.

Is it free?+

Yes, completely free: no signup, no watermark, no paywall at download.

Are my files uploaded to a server?+

No. Everything is processed locally in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
