Frequently asked questions
Why is my JPG so much smaller than the PNG?+
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which suits screenshots and logos but makes photos heavy. JPG compresses photos far better, so a 3 MB PNG photo often becomes a 300 to 600 KB JPG that looks the same.
What happens to transparent areas?+
JPG has no transparency, so they become white. To keep transparency, keep the PNG or use WebP.
Will text in my screenshot stay sharp?+
At High or Maximum quality, yes. JPG can blur fine text at low quality, so Smaller file is best kept for photos.
Can I convert several PNG files at once?+
Yes. Add as many as you like and download them together as a ZIP.
